A Peek Into Chinese Art Where brushstrokes bloom with Chinese spirit!

About Cao, Jinghua

the very talented artist

Renowned for his expressive flower-and-bird compositions, Cao Jinghua is one of China’s most respected contemporary ink painters. Raised in a scholarly family, he studied under his father, Cao Xusheng, and earned early recognition at age 15. After graduating from Laixiang Normal School in 1978, he developed a style rooted in classical brushwork and modern aesthetics.

Now a national first-class artist, a member of the China Artists Association, and an advisor on various cultural boards, Cao blends the elegance of Wang Xuetao, the boldness of Pan Tianshou, and the poetic depth of Wu Changshuo. His work ranges across flowers, bamboo, fish, birds, and spontaneous still life sketches, each rendered with a fresh vitality and lyrical precision.

With over four decades of artistic practice and numerous exhibitions held across Asia, Europe, and North America, Cao Jinghua’s art continues to bridge cultures, evoke spirit, and inspire dialogue through the timeless medium of ink.
